[MAINTENANCE] QLD-IX | NEXTDC B1, NEXTDC B2 | Firmware Upgrades
Scheduled Maintenance Report for Internet Association of Australia
Completed
This scheduled maintenance has now been completed. Please be advised that VLL services at this exchange have been re-deployed and are now in-line with our network config generation, which correctly applies our shaping policies based on your requested VLL speed. More details are available here: https://internet.asn.au/technical-guide/#speed-policing

If you are experiencing any loss or congestion on your VLL service post-maintenance, please ensure you check the configured speed and (if required) submit a modification on your service to the speed you need via the portal: https://portal.internet.asn.au. Steps for doing this can be found here: https://portal.internet.asn.au/docs/services/vll.html#editing-a-vll-service.

If you are experiencing any other issues with your QLD-IX services post-maintenance, please reach out to us at support@internet.asn.au so that we can assist you.

Scheduled
IAA Engineers will be upgrading the firmware of the switching hardware across QLD-IX to resolve software bugs.

Start: 28/Jan/2025 00:00 (AEST)
End: 28/Jan/2025 03:00 (AEST)
Window: 3 hours
Expected downtime: ~10 minutes per service port
Impacted facilities: NEXTDC B1, NEXTDC B2

Members with service ports connected at the facilities listed above should expect their port to go down during this window for around 10 minutes, affecting all services associated with the port: Peering, VLL, Extended Reach Peering.

Service ports will be drained of peering traffic roughly 5 minutes before their respective upgrades using BCP214 compliant filters. Filters will be removed once the devices are back online and stable.

If you are unsure where your port is located, please login to https://portal.internet.asn.au to confirm if your port is within these facilities.

We will ensure at least one (1) route server is up at ALL times during the window. Please verify you are peering with both route servers to avoid multiple impacts:

RS1 - 218.100.76.1/24 & 2001:7fa:11:2:0:1db6:0::1/64
RS2 - 218.100.76.254/24 & 2001:7fa:11:2:0:1db6:0::2/64

The work is expected to take about 1 hour. However, 3 hours has been booked in the unlikely event of an emergency.

If you have any questions or concerns regarding this notice, please contact us on 1300 793 320 or noc@ix.asn.au.
