IAA engineers have discovered a malfunctioning BFD process responsible for slow inter-capital VLL re-convergence. As this process is tied to a vital group of system processes we must conduct a scheduled reboot of the device to avoid a watchdog initiated reset.
We have decided to upgrade the firmware again on this device to first clear the immediate issue but also deploy code scheduled to be installed across all devices for an unrelated critical bug fix.
During this window, you can expect a single 15 minute outage to any services delivered from NextDC P1:
* Service ports at NextDC P1 on pe2.per5 should expect their port to go offline during this outage. * Service ports at NextDC P1 on pe1.per5 should expect an impact to their services - Peering, VLL, Extended Reach Peering and any bilateral you may have to another peer. * ALL Members connecting to WA-IX should expect impact to rs2.wa.ix.asn.au. * ALL Members connecting to WA-IX should expect impact to AS10084 content and transit services.
Member ports within NextDC P1 will be drained of peering traffic roughly 10 minutes before the planned event using BCP214 compliant filters. Filters will be removed once the devices are back online and stable.
