Update
As you may be aware, the main lobby in the QV1 building is being renovated and requires the main distribution board in the basement to be shut down for a period of time.

We are pleased to advise that the previously scheduled outage is now void, and these works are being considered a hazard only thanks to the support from one of our fantastic members - Ciphertel.

A generator and electricians will be on-site to mitigate the extended outage of these works.

Please be advised that between 10:00pm and 11:00pm AWST, electricians will be cutting the input feed to each UPS to a hired generator, which is expected to take five minutes per UPS and will be completed individually.

Each UPS can support approximately 15 minutes of run time without input, and all critical infrastructure has been confirmed to be distributed across both UPS units.

Once power has been restored to the building, the UPS units will be moved back to the building’s power between 5:00am and 7:00am AWST.

IAA and members wish to thank Ciphertel for their effort on this. It is greatly appreciated!

Scheduled
You may be aware that the main lobby is being renovated at QV1. As part of this renovation project, we have been advised that the main distribution board in the basement must be shut down. This board feeds our Point of Presence in QV1 including the pe1.per1, pe2.per1, and pe3.per1 switches and route server RS1.WA.

The building owner/operator has advised a 2 hour outage period is expected, however 4 hours has been booked as a contingency.

Unfortunately, a reliable alternative power supply cannot be made available for these works, and as such all members with co-located equipment or service ports (including IP Transit and Peering) within our QV1 facility should expect a complete service interruption during these scheduled works.

IAA will have a contractor on site for these works to ensure all IAA infrastructure recovers. Remote hands will be on site to power things back on.

** Members are advised that IAA will restart all member equipment unless otherwise requested. **

If you expect your equipment will require trouble shooting on restart, please contact our technical team to arrange an estimate and ensure all contact details and work instructions are up to date.

IAA apologises for this interruption to service, however this outage is at the instigation of the building owner/operator.
