IAA engineers will be performing a physical migration of connections within NextDC M1 (mel3) from the existing Extreme BlackDiamond X8 switch (pe2.mel3) to our 100G capable Extreme x870 switches (pe1.mel3 and pe3.mel3).
Route Server 1 as well as a few inter-capital paths are also part of this migration.
Please note, 2 consecutive outage windows have been booked in due to the sheer amount of connections required to migrate.
Impacted Services: * Route Server 1 - rs1.vic.ix.asn.au / 218.100.78.1/24 / 2001:7fa:11:1:0:1db6:0:1/64 * Member Ports connected to pe2.mel3 (1G EXCLUDED)
Estimated Downtime: 5-10 minutes per service with a maximum downtime of 30 minutes.
ALL members connected to VIC-IX should expect Route Server 1 to go offline for the estimated downtime whilst it is being physically migrated.
To ensure the work on Route Server 1 is non-service affecting; please confirm you have sessions to the secondary route server before the planned works: * Route Server 2 - rs2.vic.ix.asn.au / 218.100.78.254/24 / 2001:7fa:11:1:0:1db6:0:2/64
ALL members connected to pe2.mel3 should expect their port to go offline for the estimated downtime whilst their connection is migrated. BCP214 will be applied to each port to drain the peers BGP session(s) and once timed out, the physical connection and all service configuration will be migrated across then verified.
